18 weeks along and finally getting some energy back! I’ve been to slow to posting on the blog because I’ve just been so wiped out by the end of each day I crash by the time Drew gets home from works and takes over with Theo. I was definitely tired last pregnancy, but this time around chasing after a toddler has left me exhausted! I figured I would finally take some time to do a bump date and answer some questions.
Due Date: We’re due in August, so now we’ll have two August babes!
Cravings/Aversions: I love anything fizzy, so lots of fountain Sprite and seltzer water. Other than that I’ve had no real consistent cravings, other than if I get something in my head I want to eat…then I NEED to eat that and only that. Aversions in the beginning were a lot of meat. Especially the smell of cooking chicken and ground turkey really made me nauseous. That’s kind of faded now though and there’s not too many things that seem disgusting anymore.
Gender: Yes we are finding out! We will know by the end of March and will announce it then. Can’t wait!
Maternity Clothing: When I was pregnant with Theo I had the hardest time finding good maternity clothing. I ended up buying lots of non maternity tops and dresses, and just sizing up to accommodate the bump. Jeans were so much tougher though. I did the elastic band hack to try and use my normal jeans for as long as possible, but it came to a point where sitting down was really uncomfortable as the elastic would dig in.
Closer to my second trimester I found PinkBlush and decided to give their jeans a try. They were a game changer! They have good structure, but enough stretch to almost feel like leggings. My favorite part is that they have real pockets so they look like normal jeans- but no zipper or button to dig into your growing belly! The pairs I like the most have the band that go over your belly, and as a bonus it makes your bump so much smoother under fitted tops. I honestly can’t recommend their maternity jeans enough.
This time around I couldn’t whip out those jeans fast enough! I even tried another new pair in a dark wash that is pictured above. So now I have three pairs and they’ll all be on rotation until the baby comes. I have a few pairs in size 26 and then a size 27 I’ll wear closer to the end of my third trimester. They also have such cute tops and dresses, even women’s non maternity clothing. If they are out of stock in your size, you can sign up for notifications to snag them when they are available, which I definitely recommend doing. You can shop my entire look from today’s post below!
