I can’t believe this will be Theo’s second Easter! Last year we hosted both our families and it was nice not to have to bring him back and forth between places. Hoping for something similar this year!
This will be the first time he’ll actually be interested in what’s in his basket. Last time the Easter grass was the only thing he wanted to play with, which I figured, so I only got him some bubbles and a book. This year I got a few more things and thought I would share in case you were looking for some ideas for your toddler!
- Bubble Machine– Theo loves when they bring out the bubbles at his baby gym class so I figured we could use a machine to use outside at our house too.
- Sensory Ball- I also discovered these through his gym class too. The little ones fight to play with these and they come in a ton of colors and sizes. They’re super bouncy too which Theo loves. (Read the description carefully, because some ball sizes you cannot choose the color, they’re sent at random. I though I was ordering blue and we got orange, but he could care less!)
- Magnetic Wood Blocks– I got these to travel with because it’s a small set and comes with a little travelling case. He’s really into building things right now so I think they’d be a good thing to bring on the plane because they’re magnetic and hopefully hard to lose.
- Sensory Board Book– A friend bought him the elephant version of this book and he was obsessed with it. The pages all have something for them to touch and feel, so I got bunny for an Easter version.
- Sidewalk Chalk– We’re (not so) patiently waiting for the weather to warm up. But when it does, I think he’s at the perfect age to start playing with chalk. The little eggs will be a perfect shape for him to hold, and they come in a cute egg carton for storage.
- Itsy Bitsy Bunny– This series is one of his favorites. The book is meant to be read to the tune of Itsy Bitsy Spider, and the illustrations are adorable. We have a few other holiday versions and they’re a hit!
- Wood Stacking Toy– Theo found this toy before I could put it away for his basket, and it quickly became his most played with toy. The quality is great, and it promotes fine motor skills and color recognition. You can mix and match the different shapes on the pegs and I can confidently say no other toy has ever kept his attention for this long. Best purchase!
