Drew and I took the best trip yet back in October- our first time to Hawaii! We only had 6 days, so we spent our time exploring Kauai, and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better week. We stayed at the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa on the South (Sunny) Shore and I would go back in a heartbeat! The hotel grounds are gorgeous and the rooms were very clean which is a big deal to me. I loved the saltwater lagoon because the resort has direct access to a public beach, but the waves were so big there was a red flag every day so we couldn’t go into the ocean. Kauai is just like one big garden, with so many places to explore so most days we spent off the resort.
I highly recommend renting a Jeep so you can drive along the coast. We spent one full day traveling up the East Coast. We found a few waterfalls and then snuck into Queens Bath- highlight of my trip! The last day we ended up booking a private doors-off helicopter tour even though both Drew and I hate heights. It was a once in a lifetime experience- if you travel to Kauai, it’s a must. The pilot took us all over the island, including inside an inactive volcano. It was seriously unreal I felt like I was in Jurassic Park (which was filmed there by the way.) Seeing the Napali Coast from above was one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever experienced, it makes you realized how small you are in this world and what’s still left out there to experience!
