I took some time off from blogging to grow this little babe! We’re so excited to share that our baby boy will be joining us at the end of summer!
It’s taken me so long to actually write anything down announcing his arrival, mostly because I was so nervous in the beginning and didn’t want to jinx anything. I found the first trimester to be so nerve racking, we didn’t even tell our families until I was twelve weeks along. But now that we just had our anatomy scan, I feel so much better we got to see how healthy he is growing to be.
We had our families over for dinner the weekend after Valentine’s Day, since we’re finally settled into our new house and we had yet to host them. The weekend they were coming was my twelfth week, so we figured it was the perfect opportunity to surprise them with the news. I bought these super cute baby balloons and made tassels out of tissue paper to hang beside them. (Use this DIY link to make your own! I just used scotch tape instead of the glue gun-way easier.) We hung the balloons in the (soon-to-be) nursery and taped the most recent ultrasound picture to the banner.
Since our families hadn’t been over to see the upstairs rooms all finished, once everyone arrived we acted like we had furnished the guest rooms and invited them upstairs to see the progress. Instead, the balloons were waiting in the first bedroom for them to find! It was really cute and I think everyone was surprised- or at least acted like it!
My next post will be about revealing the baby’s gender. We were so anxious to find out that I bought a self DNA test and what a disaster it was haha (hint- don’t do it!)
